Vans Skateboarding proudly presents “Nusantara”, featuring five skateboarders from three different countries sailing through to find hidden treasure across the land of Nusantara. This South East Asia crew came through; witness Rubianda, Mario Palandeng, Feroze Rahman, Sharil Effendy and Fikri Fauzi give their best in the toughest times at some familiar places across Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.
Saikou Psycho – Volcom Asia’s first ever all-Asian skate trip
Volcom has been supporting Asian skateboarders for quite some time now. Some of them have recently made a name in the skateboarding community through bigger media contests. Sanggoe, for example, took home silver at the 2018 Asian Games, as well as Ju-Won who made a huge comeback in the same contest, which earned him the bronze medal. Taihou is another rising star, qualifying for major international contests, as well as receiving street creds for his best trick showdown at the 2018 Tampa Am. Vans Asia rented a “Shikumen”, an old Shanghai lane house, for a month and invited the Vans team from all over the world to explore the city. Staying in week-long shifts, the team from the USA, France, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, and Japan cruised around with the Vans China team as they skated the city of marble, devouring xiaolongbaos and dodging scooters along the way.
