After an incredible first stop in Lincoln, Nebraska in July, anticipation was high leading into stop two of the Red Bull Cornerstone series in Lenexa, Kansas this past Saturday. Once again, amateur skateboarders from Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and beyond made the pilgrimage, this time assembling at RideFourEver skatepark in Lenexa, just outside of Kansas City. RideFourEver is owned and operated by local skateboarders Weston Sparks and Dillon Lyon in conjunction with Studio Skate Supply retail shop. Studio has been serving the KC community since 2007, with the park opening in 2017.

Last weekend the SPoT Team went down to Fort Lauderdale to skate the “Back to the Streets” contest at Ramp 48 Skatepark. After the contest they spent a day cruising the streets of Miami with the help of their good friend and tour guide Dan Lundy.

STUDIO X TALK: Brian Harper of California Skateparks | X Games Minneapolis 2019
In between the competition, music and live experiences at X Games Minneapolis 2019, we unveiled a new feature for the spectators: Studio X Talks featuring in-depth interviews with some of the world’s most respected action sports insiders. Brian Harper of California Skateparks has worked with X Games for over a decade, and his crew is responsible for the unique courses used at X Games, for both skateboarding and BMX. In Studio X Talk 1, Harper talks about his experiences working with X Games and also fields questions from the audience about his unique take on life as a course builder for the Park and Street course, plus the Big Air and Vert ramps at X Games. It’s not all building ramps and skating; there’s a lot of behind the scenes work that gets done at X Games by Brian Harper and California Skateparks.
