Guinness World Record Holder & Skateboarding Legend: Judi Oyama

Judi Oyama has been pushing skateboarding forward since the 1970s. A former Women’s Slalom World Champion (2003) and Skateboarding Hall of Fame inductee, World Skate first spoke with her when she represented the USA in Downhill Slalom at the 2023 World Skate Games in Italy.

At that event, Judi mentioned Guinness World Records was considering naming her the world’s oldest competitive female skateboarder — a title she now proudly holds.

To celebrate, they invited the Santa Cruz native to share her pioneering story and personal photo archive, which capture both her own journey and a legendary era in skateboarding history.

At 65, Judi is still charging, still inspiring, and still skating nonstop since the first wave. Congratulations, Judi — from all of us and World Skate.
