After watching her Japanese teammate Misugu Okamoto dominate with a backside 540 in every contest in 2019, and again in this week’s Semifinal, Sakura Yosozumi decided it was time to break out a 540 of her own that she’d been working on in secret and had never landed in competition before today. Landing it in Run 4 helped boost her to the top of the podium.

Top Three Women’s Park Skateboarding Semifinal Runs | Dew Tour Des Moines 2021
Misugu Okamoto, just 15 years old and already the top-ranked Women’s Park skater in the world prior to this week, stayed true to form on Friday, winning the Women’s Park Semifinal to advance to Sunday’s 8-woman Final.
Also making the top-8 cut for the Final: Sky Brown (representing Great Britain), Bryce Wettstein (USA), Sakura Yosozumi (Japan), Mami Tezuka (Japan), Kokona Hiraki (Japan), Kisa Nakamura (Japan), and Jordyn Barratt (USA).
