Griffin Gass for The Manchester XLK – LAKAI
Back by popular demand, the Manchester XLK redefined the skate shoe model in the mid 2000’s. The design was the opposite of the market at that time, yet it had everything a skate shoe needed. It was a simple design with a streamlined silhouette and seamless toe. Minimizing the panels reduced seam blowout which created a more durable skate shoe. A basic concept that still holds true with today’s skateboarding. A nod to the past with modern technology. We are welcoming back two original colorways from their first inception in 2004. Manchester – Lakai Footwear

Flare Canada – Lakai
The Lakai crew took off to Montreal, Quebec for a week of skating and exploring. The city was beautiful and the people were as welcoming as could be. Lakai spent the week skating spots around the city, kicking it at the local diy and trying to find the best poutine. The trip ended at the Empire Open, one of the biggest events and contest of the year. Good times and heavy revs were had, and we came up with this tour video featuring Cody, Yonnie, Manchild, Capps, and Ty Peterson.

Lakai Japan Tour 2018
Lakai headed to Tokyo, Japan for the launch of Tony Hawk’s inaugural Lakai shoe, The Proto. With an all-star line up in an incredible destination, the stoke was at an all time high. People came from all over Japan to be some of the first to get their hands on a pair of Tony Hawk signature Lakai’s and to meet the crew.

Lakai in San Francisco for the Cambridge
Lakai teamed up with their friend, OG professional skateboarder Jovontae Turner, and created a shoe with his ideas and input. Being an innovator of style and footwear in skateboarding, we felt that Jovontae should have a shoe with his own twist on it, that matches his stylish aesthetic on and off the board. What better way to celebrate than to grab Carroll, Tae, and the crew and head back to the place where it all began.

Skateboarding and Metal music have always been a perfect match. We are beyond stoked to release a full collection of Lakai x Motörhead goods and a video to go along with it. Riley has been a fan of Lemmy and Motörhead for a long time, so it made perfect sense to center this collaboration around Riley and his new shoe, the Riley 2.
