Skating in Tahitian Paradise | Some Like it Blue: Part 1

The volcanic island paradise of Tahiti has a small but dedicated skate scene, due in no small part to the much larger and more famous surf scene centred around the legendary wave break of Teahupo’o nearby. Although the island’s volcanic ground makes for bountiful nature, it is also very porous, which means it, and any surface made from it, will eat you alive when you slam. Ryan Spencer, Jordan Taylor, Adrien Coillard, Jarne Verbruggen, and Philipp Schuster rolled the dice to see what they could come back with on the shred front, while trying not to shred themselves.

Nyjah Huston, Curren Caples & More Throw Down at Red Bull Hart Lines 2016

Snow flurries fell from the Detroit sky above Hart Plaza, and with thousands hanging over the walls of the Hart Lines course, they witnessed a level of street skateboarding beyond anything expected. Nyjah Huston, skating at the event for the first time in 2016, put on a technical masterclass over the two-lane course. He’ll take the trophy and a clean $35,000 back to California for his efforts. Last year’s defending champ, Curren Caples, flew through the course on pace for his second-place finish, and the Belgian blur Axel Cruysberghs came in third.
