Red Bull Sōlus, one of the most mentally and physically challenging contests in skateboarding, is back for a third year. From the mind of Ryan Sheckler, this digital skate competition challenges 17 of the top pros and amateurs to deliver their best continuous line at Sheckler’s private skatepark, the SC Sandlot. Alexis Sablone | Red Bull SŌLUS 2021 Entry
Ryan Sheckler has once again opened the doors to his skatepark and invited 17 of the world’s most well-rounded skateboarders to battle it out in year two of Red Bull SŌLUS. Each skater has one hour to put together their best line at The Sandlot; no crowd, no other skaters, no distractions – just an internal battle to get the best line possible.
Possibly the smartest skater in the Solus contest, Alexis Sablone has two master’s degrees to go along with her 20 plus year career in the skate spotlight. She is a legend of street skateboarding that commands the respect from the core group of the anti-contest skaters, while still being able to have that same audience cheer her on while she competes in the recent Tokyo Olympics. That’s the range all skaters want.

Judges Vanessa Torres, Mike Sinclair, and Jason Rothmeyer will evaluate each video based on style, progression and creativity. Following the judges announcement, you will have a chance to vote on your favorite video part and the fan favorite will be announced on October 20th.

Ryan Sheckler has multiple lifetimes worth of experience in the world of professional skateboarding: numerous gold medals, his own TV show, standout parts for Plan B, Etnies and Red Bull, magazine covers, and even his own charitable foundation. But Ryan will tell you himself that home court advantage doesn’t guarantee success in this contest. There will be plenty of stiff competition. But Ryan is used to it.

Ishod Wair | Red Bull SŌLUS Entry
Ishod Wair’s SŌLUS entry. With all the skate contests canceled this year, Ryan Sheckler opened the doors to his skatepark and invited 13 of the best skateboarders in the world to battle it out in a new digital skateboarding contest. Each skater has one hour to put together their best 45 second to one minute line alone – no crowd & no other skaters, just a couple camera guys and themselves – SŌLUS. Red Bull’s judges, Jamie Owens, Mike Sinclair, and Kyle Berard, will evaluate each video based on style, progression and creativity. Winner will be announced September 27th. Each skaters entry video will drop every week leading up to the September 27th winner announcement. With skate shops struggling during the global pandemic, the winner will receive $2,500 to donate to a shop of their choice. Following the judges announcement, you will have a chance to vote on your favorite video part and the fan favorite will be announced on September 30th.
