Illegal Civ and Wckdthgts Presents Go Skate Day! Hundreds of kids came out and had a great time. Free product was passed out, and 03 Greedo came to hang. Thank you to Redbull, Converse, and everyone in the Civ Business Community who attended. This was one of 03’s last community engagements before getting sent off to the big house, so major thanks to him for coming.
SPoT, Westside Skateshop and Nike SB teamed up this year for Go Skateboarding Day, and skills paid off (literally) with $2,000 in cash for tricks being given away. As a bonus, joined by Blake Carpenter, who got everyone hyped up from the Bro Bowl to Skatepark of Tampa. Check out the recap.
A video recap of Go Skateboarding Day 2018 in NYC. Filmed and edited by R.B. Umali. Thank you Nike SB, KCDC Skateshop, Labor Skateshop, Transworld Skateboarding, Steve Rodriguez, Amy Gunther and everybody who came out to celebrate the spirit of skateboarding in New York City.
Without fail, every year “Go Skateboarding Day” sneaks up on us. Could you blame us? It always seems as though the day just passed. Why shouldn’t we get deja vu since we consider every day “Go Skateboarding Day.” Truthfully, nothing outside the ordinary happens on June, 21st. Sure, there are a few special events, some sanctioned by the governing board of the International Association of Skateboard Companies, and other events that aren’t trademarked. Regardless, to me the day always tends to feel about the same wherever it’s observed. That’s because, at its core, “Go Skateboarding Day” is just another day revolving around kicking it with friends both new and old and celebrating the ever continuous joy of riding a useless wooden toy. The spirit of the day is truly infectious. Although, with all due respect, if the freestyler brainiacs that make up the IASC (in all their infinite wisdom) could pick a shorter day next time around, maybe, my sunburn won’t be so bad. – Ambush Board Co.

This year on Go Skateboarding Day, The Boardr decided to make a day tour of a few of these spots. When was the last time you went to three backyard spots in one afternoon all within skating distance? That was our day.
If a skateboard trick only takes you about one second to perform and you can get a free slice of pizza for that skateboard trick, then that means you could’ve got 3,600 slices of pizza an hour if you were some sort of super human. This is the kind of math we ended up doing this year on Go Skateboarding Day! Our friends at Sizzle Pie hooked us up with 25 pizzas to go all over Portland and trade slices for hammers! All in all we gave 250 slices of pizza to 250 skaters at parks all around CCS headquarters! Check out our recap of the day!
