Meet Chris Mathis. He’s an ironworker in his 30’s who filmed an entire part on weekends in Jake Todd’s new video “Devil’s Pocket.” It’s not often you find a guy who picks a day job that is equally, if not more, dangerous than skateboarding. Enjoy a Philadelphia skater whose style and trick selection are informed by years in the game and a respect for his craft.

Is The New Miami Drop Bigger Than The Leap of Faith? – JENKEM
Over the weekend, JENKEM came across a clip of Jace DeTomasso where he ollies down a massive stair set in Miami, FL that looked eerily similar to the Leap of Faith gap in San Diego. The internet, being quick as always, dubbed the spot “The Miami Leap of Faith” and began speculating on the size of the drop. To put all the curious commenters to bed, they went back and measured the drop to compare it to the OG Leap of Faith. Their findings were surprising, but we won’t ruin those for you, so check the video to find out yourself.

Skating dirt, grass, and rocks with Donnie Mortensen – JENKEM
Donnie Mortensen, a skater from Colorado turned dirt mounds and grassy hills into spots just by throwing huge tires on his regular board. Not only are some of the tricks pretty mindblowing in their own right, but it also captures one of the most important aspects of skateboarding: going out with your friends and doing the dumbest things possible. – JENKEM
