Following the Big Air competition at X Games Barcelona 2013, Bob Burnquist boasted 24 total X Games medals after beating out Mitchie Brusco and Elliot Sloan. The win put Burnquist even with BMX legend Dave Mirra and ahead of snowboarder and skateboarder Shaun White for the medal-total record. But Big Air wasn’t just Bob’s game. Mitchie Brusco, 16 at the time, upped the stakes with his first 1080 on the MegaRamp quarterpipe to win silver, with Elliot Sloan close behind in the bronze medal position. Here, we take a look back at the full competition from the X Games Barcelona 2013.

“We’ve had these MegaRamp events here, and I’ve gotten wins here, but, this was unique,” Burnquist said. “I’m really stoked. And to do it here at home, as the first main X Games … I can’t ask for anything better.” An on-point Elliot Sloan claimed silver. Australia’s 38-year-old Jake Brown took home the bronze medal, along the way penning a new page in the history books with skateboarding’s first 720 ollie.
