The circus is back in town and brought in the best skateboarders all under one roof for Tampa Pro 2025. The Independent Best Trick sideshow lets these freaks of nature run wild as they attempt to put down their heaviest of moves. Home is where the heart is, and for Sebo Walker, that place is Portland, Oregon. Surrounded by family, a sense of community, and a place where he can create a positive environment are some of the defining qualities that make Portland feel so special.
Following the men’s street VQS qualifier, the top six moved onto the semi-final, where they were met by seventeen skaters, making for a total field of twenty-three. This was the largest and longest contest of the Rockstar Energy Open and the most important for street skateboarders to make it in the top ten to advance into the final. Nevertheless, the fans who packed the bleachers, sidelines and climbed trees were in for a show. The Springtime weather in the Pacific Northwest can always be a roll of the dice. Portland, Oregon is notorious for its wet weather, which averages 36 inches of rain year-round. Unsurprisingly, on the first trip to the City of Roses, Chris Joslin was met with weather that doesn’t favor hucking moves out in the streets. But getting skunked on the first trip didn’t stop Chris from booking another flight to the PNW for another chance to stack clips.
Guided by local skateboard filmer Adam Robo, Chris Joslin was pointed in all the right directions for spots, uncovering hidden gems that might have gone overlooked.
