The 27th annual Tampa Pro lived up to the hype that surrounded its highly anticipated arrival. Monster Energy’s very own, 27-year-old Olympic skateboarder Kelvin Hoefler from Guarujá, Brazil, took 2nd place, claiming a podium finish in one of the most heated finals in event history. Representing Brazil as well, Monster Energy rider and newly minted pro Gabriel Fortunato from Suzano, put his repertoire of technical street tricks on full display. Despite landing tricks that exceeded the average; he missed the cut into finals.
Monster Army rider Liam Pace also made waves in the legendary concrete bowl at Skatepark of Tampa (SPoT), receiving the ‘You Killed It’ award in the Concrete Jam Bowl skate event. Presented by Monster Energy as the official title sponsor, Tampa Pro is the most respected grassroots contest in skateboarding. It goes without saying that the skateboarding was in a league of its own all weekend.
