Vans Park Series sparks off its third year in São Paulo and for our first Rider Profile of 2018 we take a dive into the history of Brazil’s native son, Pedro Barros. Pedro finished in 2nd place at the 2017 VPS Championships in Shanghai China, and has won every VPS event held in Brazil. We sit down with Pedro to discuss his recent move to Huntington Beach, California, his upbringing in Florianopolis and the pressure of competing in front of the hometown fans.

São Paulo will now have their own Skatepark built to official Vans Park Series specifications. The world best men’s and women’s park terrain skaters will be hitting the fresh park on June 1st, 2018 for the first stop of the 2018 Vans Park Series Pro Tour.

Brazil has the most rabid skateboarding fanbase on the planet and we knew there was no better place to spark off this VPS year. Keegan Palmer has taken the Men’s 2018 Oceanic Continental Championships title with an impressive performance at Five Dock Skatepark in Sydney, Australia. Palmer’s win awards him direct entry into the 2018 Vans Park Series World Championships to battle it out with the world best park terrain skaters.
