Twenty years ago today, on August 11, 2001, X Games held its first Skateboard Street Best Trick competition at City Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. And it was mayhem. Imagine the scenario: across a busy downtown street from Love Park, Philadelphia’s City Hall was already a go-to destination for street skaters. And with the addition of a few banked landings that created new lines, X Games took to the streets for the very first time. Featured skaters include Kerry Getz, Eric Koston, Rick McCrank, Josh Kalis and some impromptu MC’ing from Jason Ellis.
Mitchie Brusco’s First 1260 Turns Two! | BEST OF X GAMES
On August 3, 2019, Mitchie Brusco etched his name into the history books when he landed the world’s first Skateboard Big Air 1260. That’s three and a half rotations in the air, and Mitchie landed it like a boss. Because that happened two years ago today, here’s a quick reminder of Mitchie’s history-making feat!

Pacifico’s Skateboard Vert Best Trick at X Games 2021 was an unexpected surprise for all of us, following the last minute addition of world renowned legend Tony Hawk to the start list. Tony simply showed up, felt like skating and made it happen. But there’s more to Best Trick than Tony’s presence. From a vert extension on the ramp to a young Brazilian upstart named Gui Khury turning heads, Skateboard Vert Best Trick went next level in 2021. It was also the perfect bridge between Tony’s legendary 900 and the infinite future of vert skateboarding. Enjoy this encore presentation!
