After watching her Japanese teammate Misugu Okamoto dominate with a backside 540 in every contest in 2019, and again in this week’s Semifinal, Sakura Yosozumi decided it was time to break out a 540 of her own that she’d been working on in secret and had never landed in competition before today. Landing it in Run 4 helped boost her to the top of the podium.

John Motta – INSANE Hardflip Wallride!
After landing the varial heel flip wallride in 2008’s “A Happy Medium”, John had dreamed of rolling away from a hard flip wallride. Unfortunately after countless attempts and many trips back, the 6 stair wall was skate stopped. John has tried to get the trick on other spots for every AHM video since. In 2019 John finally accomplished his goal and made all of dreams come true after battling this trick for an hour. We love you John!

Top Three Runs from Men’s Street Semifinals | Dew Tour Des Moines 2021
Dew Tour Des Moines delivered a heated 32-skater Men’s Street Semifinal despite rain delays. The day wrapped with Manny Santiago, Aurelien Giraud, and Yuto Horigome leaving semis on fire and leading the group of eight qualified for the final.
The best 21 skaters from qualifying met the top 11 World Skate ranked pre-seeded for an abbreviated semifinal format of two, 45-second runs with the best score counting. Each of the three heats felt like international finals of their own.
Manny Santiago, 35, came out blazing for Puerto Rico as the oldest skater in the contest. His first run fired everyone up and gave him the top score, but he bested himself on his second run and burnt the place down.

Brazilian skater Pamela Rosa – already the top-ranked Women’s Street skater in the World Skate rankings prior to this week after winning Dew Tour Long Beach and other events in 2019 – won Saturday’s Dew Tour Des Moines Street Semifinal by a commanding 8.81 point lead over 2nd place finisher Leticia Bufoni.
