You heard it here first! This is your official invitation to enter the Rockstar Energy Video Qualifying Series (RSOPENVQS) for a chance to win a spot to compete in the inaugural Rockstar Energy Open. The VQS is an online street skateboarding competition that gives everyone a chance to showcase their skills. So, grab your video clips, stack them together, and post your edit on Instagram using #RSOPENVQS between June 12 and August 2, 2024 for a chance to be featured on theplatfrm.com where entries will be reviewed by professional judges, skateboarders, and fans.

The top 10 male and female video qualifiers will win a chance to compete in the Rockstar Energy Open, coming to Portland, Oregon this August 23-25, 2024.

To sweeten the deal even more, Rockstar will be giving away $1,000 weekly cash prizes for best men and women video submissions, $1,000 to the overall best trick winner, and $2,500 viewer’s choice winner scored by fans.

Get ready for the future of competition. Rockstar Energy reveals their fresh take on skateboarding with its all-new Rockstar Energy Open, coming to downtown Portland, Oregon, this August 23-25, 2024.

The competition seeks to extend invites to over 100 men and women to showcase the extensive list of park and street skateboarding talent. Keeping true to the open format, street skateboarders worldwide can compete with invited pros and secure an invite through the online Video Qualifying Series (VQS) held during the weeks leading up to the event.

If you search for Florida Man headlines in the world of skateboarding you’ll return with one thing. Swampfest. Yeah, we know you’ve probably seen the footage already. Quick news flash, we’re late, but hell, we didn’t even know we were going to go.

We considered letting our footage dump lay to rest, especially since this is mainly a BMX event, but when you see the amalgamation of a redneck civil war reenactment and Woodstock 99, full of muddy slams, mortar close calls, a lot of fire, and unorganized mayhem, it’s hard not to share. – JENKEM
