RAYSSA LEAL | Aspire – Inspire: Ep 08 – Monster Energy

From the moment her career took off, Rayssa Leal continues to crush records and complete huge milestones.

In 2019, she made history as the youngest competitor to win an SLS tour stop at age 11 and took second place at the SLS World Championship in Brazil that year. Today, she commands an Instagram following of 6.3 million and pushes the limits of technical street skateboarding. At the Tokyo Olympics, the young skateboard prodigy took home the silver medal in Women’s Street Skateboarding for Brazil. Leal earned her first X Games gold medal in early 2022 and is currently a top contender to win the SLS Super Crown World Championship in Brazil this fall.

Follow along as Leal goes back to her Brazilian hometown and revisits spots and skateparks that molded her talents and shapes her into the skater she has become, and continues to grow into.

Two years after the attack, the mini-doc recounts the story and follows her path to recovery — all told through new interviews with Brooklinn and her loved ones. What could have been a tragic story ends up being an intimate look at Brooklinn’s refreshing optimism and the vital role skateboarding is playing in her recovery.
