Leading the charge was a Red Bull Skateboarding squad consisting of Madars Apse, Angelo Caro, Aldana Bertran, TJ Rogers and CJ Collins, all of whom teamed up with four of Barcelona’s finest core skate shops for a series of local challenges dotted throughout the city.
The trajectory of Latin American skateboarding as a global force began with the Brazilians, but in the last decade almost every country in South America has contributed its verse to the song: Jhancarlos Gonzalez from Colombia, Milton Martinez from Argentina, Mathias Torres from Chile. Angelo Caro is Peru’s first professional skateboarder, and he is absolutely superb.

The 29th Annual Tampa Pro. The best pro skaters came from everywhere to try to make the cut into the top 30. The internet gave up halfway through the day, Brian lit himself on fire, but we managed to make it to the FINAL CUT.
The first to make their mark internationally were the Brazilians, of course, but in their wake almost every country in Latin America has made its own contribution to skateboarding on the world stage from Argentina’s Diego Bucchieri and later Milton Martinez to Peru’s Angelo Caro, Colombia’s Jhancarlos Gonzalez, Chile’s Matthias Torres and so on.
SPoT OG’s Brian Schaefer and Paul Zitzer made it out to Paris to support Etnies and the Far N’ High crew for their 14th Pro/Am Contest that took place May 12-15, 2022.
