By the age of 17, Team Toyota athlete Evan Strong was a sponsored skateboarder on the rise, focusing on becoming a pro athlete. While growing up on the island of Maui, Evan’s life completely changed after a drunk driver struck him on his motorcycle, which caused the amputation of his left leg below the knee. With nothing to lose and everything to gain, Evan used his gnawing need to skateboard again as motivation and reset his focus on new goals. Now, Evan only grows stronger and continues to push forward.

During a time when the roster of women competing in park was a handful and skill levels among participants were vast, Allysha Le was one of few to be at the forefront of progression. Growing up in Los Angeles, California, Allysha frequented the Vans skatepark in Orange County, where she established a solid foundation on transition. Setting her focus on contest skating, Allysha won her first event at the 2011 Vans Girl Combi Pool Classic. Fast forward a decade, what once was a small demographic of women in park contests has exponentiated worldwide, with skateboarders appearing from all corners of the world. Before skateboarding’s debut at the Tokyo Summer Games, Allysha had decided to take a step aside from participating in qualifying events taking a different path down her skateboard career. While skateboarding wrapped up its postponed debut at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Games this past August in 20201, it ensured an eased travel schedule for Maurio.
