DGK x Homebase – The Golden Era
Before the brand, DGK was a movement felt by everyone native to Love Park. Many people look to those years as The Golden Era; a true representation of skateboarding by skateboarders. Love park meant so much too so many, DGK x Homebase felt we should pay homage to one of the most notable icons in the culture at that time, the DC Kalis. Shoes have taken many different forms since 2000, but it’s timeless feel and unique silhouette make this shoe as classic as the era it was born in.

Before DGK there was just a group of Dirty Ghetto Kids skating a plaza in the heart of Philly. Love Park was the catalyst for DGK; and the lessons we learned from our time there became the pillars that DGK was built upon. Seventeen years after Mike Blabac shot this image, the purpose and principal remains the same. This collection represents an era that will always be close to us; Love Park might be gone, but it will never be forgotten. Thanks for the LOVE.
