USA Skateboarding’s 2021 Year- End Wrap Party

2021 has been a groundbreaking year for skateboarding, and for the USA Skateboarding National and Olympic Teams in particular. From the first-ever USA Skateboarding Virtual National Championships to our Olympic Team’s medal-winning performances at the Tokyo Olympics to the launch of our Skateboarding For All initiative, giving kids their first experience on a skateboard, 2021 has been a year to celebrate!

On December 11, USA Skateboarding National Team members, staff, and friends gathered to relive and celebrate the highlights of 2021, complete with a Ray Barbee performance, raffles, giveaways, team meet and greets special announcements and a birthday surprise!

Jordyn, Part Two presented by Toyota USA

Team Toyota athlete Jordyn Barratt grew up in Hawaii skating at Banzai Skatepark. There weren’t any other little girls skating at the park when Jordyn first began. At around 14 years old, Jordyn moved to California and realized there were more skaters just like her. But as she started to compete against some of the girls, she looked up to the competition grew fierce. Gnarly. Some of the older girls were pretty mean, an experience that Jordyn vowed to change for the future girls of skating. It’s not like that anymore, according to Jordyn, partially due to the expanded contest circuit, which has allowed a little more room for everyone to grow. She knows what it’s like to get picked on, so she’s made it a point to make any girls who are coming up feel welcome—the more, the merrier, in her opinion.

Day In The Life of Skateboarder Heimana Reynolds | Aimless Episode 17 – Dew Tour

Skateboarding has officially made its Olympic debut at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Games, where athletes from all around the world showcase their skills to a global audience. Among those skateboarders was Heimana Reynolds representing not only the United States but also the Hawai’ian islands. Now residing in Carlsbad, California, Heimana lives in one of SoCal’s mecca for skateboarding and has an abundant amount of skateparks at his fingertips to master his craft. Just a few weeks before Heimana caught his flight out to Japan, Dew Tour had the pleasure of following him around to get a look at what a typical day is like for the skateboard Olympian. Watch as Heimana takes us to his local coffee shop, scope out some waves, and get some scrapes in at Poods skatepark and at the CATF.
