Vans Skateboarding x Skateistan: Where It Starts | Skate | VANS

In celebration of Go Skateboarding Day, Vans proudly announces a new partnership with Skateistan, the award-winning international non-profit organization which empowers youth through skateboarding and education in Afghanistan, Cambodia, South Africa and supports other social skate projects around the world.

Featuring Vans ambassador and Skateistan board member, Tony Hawk, Vans skaters Lizzie Armanto and Pedro Barros, as well as Skateistan ambassadors Kouv Chansangva (known as Tin) and Yann Horowitz.

Now through September, Vans will donate $10 USD from every pair of Vans Custom Skate Classics purchased from June 21 to August 30, 2021 – up to US$200k – to Tides Foundation in support of Skateistan.

Vans sends Afonso Nery, Alex Furtado, Arnau Truque, Ben Skrzypez, David Sanchez, Dubann Machuca, Florentin Marfaing, Gelek Gonzalez, Ibon Mariño, Joscha Aicher , Martino Cattaneo, Nuno Relogio, Pedro Roseiro, Pol Amadó, Rafa Cort, Roberto Alemañ, Tania Cruz, and Victor Pellegrin to Alicante in October, followed by Barcelona in November, and then straight to the other side of Spain with Cadiz and Madrid to finish the trip!

Skate shops are more than a place to buy product, they are the cornerstone of our skate family. Lotties Skateshop has quickly become a community hub and safe haven for young skaters in Los Angeles. Owner Mike Gigliotti’s love for the shop and the community is what truly makes this space special. Vans recently spent some time at Lotties to understand what inspires Mike to create art, elevate local talent, and preserve the skate shop subculture for generations to come.
