Who knew Austria would have such a cool contest? Here’s another example of skaters ripping from all over the world at the Opel Air + Style contest in Innsbruck, Austria.

A new victor claimed the Vans Girls Combi Classic title on Saturday when 15-year-old Poppy Star from Australia won her first official Pro contest! Poppy has been a rising star over the last few years ever since she dominated the 14 and under division to earn first in the rankings during the 2014 World Cup Skateboarding bowl series. In 2015, she follows suit and finished the year off again as #1 in the 15 and over division.
A whole lot of barrels were jumped at the Element Barrel Jump contest at Bright Tradeshow! Congrats to Chris Pfanner who cleared a massive 13 barrels! Check out the video
On Saturday December 26th the one and only Mark Gonzales visited Orchard Skateshop for the first ever public screening of his iPad short films in the Extension Gallery!
On January 19th at 4pm at Bright Tradeshow, Berlin we’ll be running a barrel jump contest.
Vic’s Market II is premiering January 17th 2016 at Jet City Improv with a showing at 7:00 pm and another at 9:00 pm.
Grizzly Griptape opened up their flagship store in Los Angeles on December 5th and Chris Joslin, Boo Johnson, Mark Appleyard, Chris Cole, Felipe Gustavo, Sean Malto, Ryan Sheckler, Torey Pudwill and more showed up for a signing.
Not every skate contest lives up to the hype, but the 2015 Tampa Am delivered the goods in glorious fashion With the past two winners in the top 12, and 10 more dudes in the Finals going all out HAM, it was another Tampa Am for the history books. Out of over 200 Ams who came from all over the world to skate Tampa Am, Aurelien took it home for France in the most dramatic way imaginable. Vive la France!!!

In the world of skateboarding skate spots rarely last long – they’re always changing or gone for good. The DIY skatepark beneath Portland, Oregon’s has endured the tests of time and just celebrated its 25 birthday this past Halloween. With a newly resurfaced bowl all due in part to $44,000 in donations from around the world and a heap of skilled volunteers and friends, the skatepark hosted a heated bowl bash and one great party while the skies continued to pour from above. So have a look and be inspired to skateboard and live it up on four wheels. Happy 25th Birthday Burnside Skatepark!
