The 2022 CCS Invitational at the Lil Carwash presented by Converse CONS

On August 21st, 2022, some of the most celebrated skateboarders of the past, present, and future converged at CCS headquarters in Portland, Oregon to chop it up and throw it down on a loading-dock-sized recreation of the legendary Sunset Carwash spot and then a slightly used LeBaron convertible.

The tricks poured in fast like soapy water on the premium setting as the masters of ceremonies Frank Gerwer and Elissa Steamer handed out pine-scented air fresheners of cash for their favorite stunts. And it all ended like the Carwash began… with John Cardiel getting us all hyped up.

Almost Skateboards recently introduced a line of Super Sap decks made with an innovative eco-friendly resin adhesive to reduce the environmental burden of board manufacturing. To set all our minds at ease, Almost pro John Dilo met up with CCS to address all our practical (and environmental) concerns with a solid 100 servings of Super Sap kickflips. John even gave us a little extra by mixing up his kickflip variations so we can see how this deck functions while flipping into, out of, up, down, off, around, backwards, forwards and mid-manual. Since 100 Kickflips are so easy for Matt CCS decided to add another task on top of them and have him shoot Polaroid portraits of different friends he ran into through out the day. Lucky for you he ran into some really good friends.

CCS handled the kickflips and the portraits and to make this drop even more special they had Ishod Wair, Stefan Janoski, Mason Silva, Grant Taylor, Dashawn Jordan and Tanner Burzinski sign the Polaroids that Matt shot and CCS will be throwing them in random Polaroid Dunk boxes for a few extra lucky customers who get the almighty W.
