Addis Skatepark is creating Ethiopia’s first concrete skatepark! Construction will be led by Make Life Skate Life, a non-profit organization working to build community skateparks throughout the world. International volunteers will collaborate with the local skateboarding community of Addis Ababa to build the skatepark this April. Once completed, the skatepark will be managed by local grass-roots organization Ethiopia Skate and will provide local youth with a free-of-charge and accessible outlet for socializing and physical activity. Skateboards, safety gear, and skate shoes will be made available through an on-site loaner program so that all youth can have the opportunity to skate, regardless of economic standing.
