Theories of Atlantis newest “Raw Tapes” series is back, with seasoned Tampa filmer/editor Steve Buggica and this is an extra spicy episode. Episode 2 focuses on Sarasota, Florida’s own, and Magenta Skateboards pro, the legendary Jimmy Lannon. Floating from porch to porch across the Tampa Bay area, this new episode is choc full of awesome spots and eye-pleasing clips. Clips originally seen in Stephen’s past projects from his own “Busted Mic” series, as well as the Shaqueefa videos and various Magenta projects from over the years. Steve decided to focus specifically on the iconic porch spots, unique to the Tampa area, and it’s amazing he has enough to make full episodes.

TOA’s newest “Raw Tapes” series is with Tampa, Florida’s Steve Buggica. Steve has been holding down the Tampa skate scene with his VX and death lens for a long time now. Filming for his own “Busted Mic” series, the Shaqueefa videos and assisting with many Hopps, Theories and Magenta projects over the years, he has amassed a hefty archive of Sony mini-DV tapes. Tapes that hold some hidden gems we never got to see and some classics we’re happy to see again. Steve decided to focus specifically on the iconic porch spots, unique to the Tampa area, and it’s amazing he has enough to make full episodes. This episode focuses on Hopps pro, and Tampa native, Dustin Eggeling with a couple cameos including Kevin Coakley. Enjoy!

Coming at you with a heavy block of raw footage of Aaron Herrington from 2014 while working on his classic opening part from Static IV. This edit includes lots of unseen clips from the time and second makes, additional angles and some footage that ended up in Jeremy Elkin’s “Poisonous Products”. “FAST FRIENDS” by Brainstorm Skateboards x Fuzzy Needle – Theories of Atlantis
Theories of Atlantis friends down in Asheville, North Carolina have a rad small brand called Brainstorm Skateboards that does some really cool projects. They also help support the local skate community with creative video projects, art shows and raising funds to support their local DIY spot. Run by long time shredder and Asheville local Eric Hunt, Brainstorm is always collaborating with local small businesses to bring the community together and make rad stuff happen. And their latest offering is “Fast Friends”, a collaboration with the Wilmington-based record store Fuzzy Needle and features a ton of skaters from the local scene as well as Eric himself. Edited by Kerry Webb and filmed/edited by Eric Hunt, TOA was hyped to host this new project, shining a light on a scene that doesn’t get enough exposure. A perfect fit for the “Underground Network” series.
RANDY BENKO & NYLE LOVETT FROM “GRAINS ACT 3” – THEORIES OF ATLANTIS
Theories of Atlantis is stoked to host this exclusive peek at Randy Benko’s part from the all new “Grains Act 3” DVD which JUST premiered on July 1st! Filmed and edited by Kevin Delgrosso the Grains video series has been shining a light on midwestern skateboarding for most of the 2010’s and now into the 2020’s and TOA is hyped to bring you Randy Benko’s full part with guest skaters Nyle Lovett and Aaron Christopher. The DVD just released for sale on the TOA website this weekend so snag a copy while they last and enjoy a glimpse into a much-ignored skate scene in the middle of the US.

Theories of Atlantis is hyped to host Cody Wilber’s full video part from “Niche”, the new independent video out of Gainesville, Florida. Filmed and edited by Alex Baucom, Niche focuses on the small but shredding skate scene of Gainesville and we have been granted the honor of hosting the opening part from Magenta flow rider Cody Wilber.

“The Fourth Turning” Raw Tapes series, featuring miles of raw mini-dv tape captured during the filming of Theories Brand’s latest video offering, concludes here with the third and final episode.
With the final episode Theories of Atlantis brings you Michigan’ phenom Nick Rainey and his wild bag of tricks. Nick’s part features a heavy dose of local Michigan crust as well as a good balance of east cost spots from Philadelphia to NYC. It’s nuts seeing how easily Nick handles some of these spots but also we get treated to some unused clips and even see that no matter how skilled one might be, sketchy spots will still collect their taxes from time to time.

The Raw Tapes series is back featuring miles of raw mini-dv tape captured during the filming of Theories Brand’s latest video offering “The Fourth Turning”. On episode 2/3 we dive into midwest’s best, corn fed, Nyle Lovett. With a healthy balance of Indiana gems, a stay in Philly, and a day trip to Baltimore, this episode brings a wide variety of spots and showcases Nyle’s insane consistency pretty well. Lots of second makes, alternate angles and even several unused clips, this one is certainly worth the watch.
