The Tony Hawk Foundation Is Now THE SKATEPARK PROJECT
The Tony Hawk Foundation has announced a change in name, but not in focus. Now known as The Skatepark Project, the organization continues its award-winning work to support community skatepark projects across the U.S., and skatepark-based programming internationally.
Its mission is to help underserved communities create safe and inclusive public skateparks for youth. The Skatepark Project envisions thriving, healthy and sustainable communities throughout the United States in which young people have equitable access to safe outdoor spaces for creative expression, physical activity and a sense of belonging.

Pacifico’s Skateboard Vert Best Trick at X Games 2021 was an unexpected surprise for all of us, following the last minute addition of world renowned legend Tony Hawk to the start list. Tony simply showed up, felt like skating and made it happen. But there’s more to Best Trick than Tony’s presence. From a vert extension on the ramp to a young Brazilian upstart named Gui Khury turning heads, Skateboard Vert Best Trick went next level in 2021. With so many eyes focused on Tokyo in 2021 Vans wanted to make sure that the rich skate culture and storied history didn’t get lost in the hype of The Games. This is the last trip the Loveletters crew took with our beloved Jeff Grosso before his passing. Jeff and the crew had a blast meeting the many Japanese skaters from every generation.
