With the World Tour still on hold, SLS decided to throw another informal event with a twist. The format is familiar, the rules are loose, the skaters are hand picked, and the location is private, as Volcom opens up their private skatepark for 10 of the world’s best skaters to go head-to-head for unregulated glory in becoming the next SLS Unsanctioned Champion. THE SKATERS: Dashawn Jordan, Mason Silva, Louie Lopez, Aurelien Giraud, Chris Joslin, Taylor Kirby, Ishod Wair, Tom Asta, Milton Martinez and Elijah Berle. THE JUDGES: Paul Rodriguez, Torey Pudwill and Kelly Hart.
Hitting the road is part of Volcom’s DNA and if they go for too long without a road trip they start to go stir crazy. So just as Volcom began to feel enwrapped by an overwhelming sense of claustrophobia, they started planning a loose route through the southwest assembling a solid crew to join them on the journey. Milton Martinez, Collin Provost, Omar Hassan, Mathias Torres, Alec Majerus, Simon Bannerot, CJ Collins, Peter Hewitt, along with snowboard legends Jaime Lynn and Scott Blum on their Harleys, joined Remy Stratton in the #YOTAvolcom along with Tom Remmilard keeping Peter company in his own vehicle, while Wanderlodge driver, Jarrod Pimental aka ‘Road Rage’, manned the wheel in the skate van.

Have you ever just wanted to buy a van and travel around the country doing whatever you want with your friends? That’s exactly what Alec Majerus did! In February of 2020 Alec took his ‘Gnar-V’ sprinter camper van from southern California all the way cross-country to Tampa, Florida for the annual Tampa Pro contest. With his friend and fellow ripper, Jared Cleland, Alec and the boys hit the road, skating all sorts of spots, travelling over 6,500 miles through 12 states in a little over 2 weeks!
Since the beginning, our culture was created and motivated by one thing… change. In fact the magic is that every wave, every skate spot, every painting is different and constantly evolving. As we look ahead we are motivated to embrace change and build a New Future together. While we are equally cautious and concerned for the overall well-being of the human race and mother earth, we have no doubt that our collective creativity will be an engine of positive energy. Though these times are different, the only constant is change, let’s embrace it with an open mind.
Show us your passions (your THIS) and tell us how you’re embracing change. We want share your story with our followers on Instagram so use the hashtag #truetothis and mention @volcom so we can regram! – VOLCOM
What’s hiding in your camera roll? Amazing adventures? Ridiculous moments with your friends? Volcom hopes to spread some joy and happiness during this difficult time and inspire others to remember the epic world out there that we are staying home to protect… because TOGETHER we can get back to THIS!
Simon Bannerot and CJ Collins join Victor Pellegrin, Eniz Fazliov, Jorge Simoes and Harry Lintell in Paris to hit some of the more famous Parisian skate spots like La Place de la Republique and Le Dôme as well as some hidden ones, freshly discovered by almost-local legend, Dustin Dollin.
With the build of Volcom 1986 Toyota 4Runner complete they set out to skate obscure spots off the beaten path in California’s high desert which is true to the terrain that shaped who CJ is today. Conceived in support of the drop of CJ’s Volcom “Liberation Cont’d” clothing collection, the build and ensuing film trip truly captured spirit of liberation.
