Japan has a long and radical skate history. With so many eyes focused on Tokyo in 2021 Vans wanted to make sure that the rich skate culture and storied history didn’t get lost in the hype of The Games. Japan has a great skate scene that should championed and celebrated long after this moment in history.

This is the last trip the Loveletters crew took with our beloved Jeff Grosso before his passing. Jeff and the crew had a blast meeting the many Japanese skaters from every generation.

Vans Skateboarding x Skateistan: Where It Starts | Skate | VANS

In celebration of Go Skateboarding Day, Vans proudly announces a new partnership with Skateistan, the award-winning international non-profit organization which empowers youth through skateboarding and education in Afghanistan, Cambodia, South Africa and supports other social skate projects around the world.

Featuring Vans ambassador and Skateistan board member, Tony Hawk, Vans skaters Lizzie Armanto and Pedro Barros, as well as Skateistan ambassadors Kouv Chansangva (known as Tin) and Yann Horowitz.

Now through September, Vans will donate $10 USD from every pair of Vans Custom Skate Classics purchased from June 21 to August 30, 2021 – up to US$200k – to Tides Foundation in support of Skateistan.

Vans Europe Presents: Going Nowhere | Skate | VANS

Going Nowhere is the newest team video offer from Vans Germany, Austria & Switzerland. As covid hit in, in 2020, the team decided to go nowhere and stood home in their countries, where they filmed this new clip throughout the year. They mainly visited Cologne, Berlin, Hamburg & Stuttgart and had some of the EMEA team joining on this journey. Grosso Forever: Paul Kobriger’s Jeff Grosso Tribute | Skate | VANS

In honor of the anniversary of the passing of Jeff Grosso, Vans’ beloved larger than life champion of all things skateboarding, Steve Van Doren commissioned artist Paul Kobriger to create a very special ball point pen hyper realism rendition of photographer Joe Brook’s timeless portrait to hang prominently in The Jeff Grosso Room at Vans HQ. Paul is primarily a portrait artist living in Escondido, CA.. He grew up skateboarding and drawing in a small town in Wisconsin before moving to San Diego. At age 39 after 20 years of not creating a single art piece, Paul rediscovered his talent and love of drawing. Watch as Kobriger takes us through the process of bringing portraits to life in his own unique style.

Vans South Africa Presents: FACETIOUS | Skate | VANS

Facetious is Vans South Africa’s skate team’s first ever video project. The video has been in the works in the last 3 years. Vnas widely diverse team covers all corners of South Africa – from Cape Town to Johannesburg and all the way to Kimberly and features everything from 17ft pools to slappy curbs; they went far and wide to gather footage for this project. Skateboarding has created a culture of looking at the world through a different lens and we are surrounded by people that always find a silver lining. We often find humor in situations that, to the average person, is no laughing matter. Whether we walk off a heavy slam or survive a hill bomb, we facetiously
cope with whatever is thrown at us. Facetious is nothing but proud South African homage.
